Description |
| Created in 1962 on the actual site where the American troops landed on June 6th 1944, the Utah Beach museum pays homage to the men who risked and gave their lives for our freedom. After a year of renovation work, the new museum welcomes you into exposition surface of more than 3000m2. Through ten chronological sequences, the museum evokes the German occupation, and their forces present on the eve of D-Day, the allied strategy, and the events that took place June 6th, 1944 in the Utah Beach sector. The museum’s new star is an authentic B 26 medium bomber plane, which is exposed in the hall designed for him with two flight simulators on either side. Leaving the site, the visitor will have an understanding of the strategic choice of this Normand beach and the reasons for the military and technological successes of Utah Beach. |
